AmpRack vertical 0U metered rack PDU with an amber LED load strip against a dark studio backdrop

Metered PDU · M-Series

Every watt, on the record.

The M-Series meters each feed at ±1% billing grade — V, A, kW, kWh, power factor and phase balance per unit — and streams it all over SNMP v3 or REST at 1-second resolution.

Billing-grade by design

±1% you can invoice against

Billing grade is a chain, not a slogan: a metering front end built to the IEC 62053-21 class 1 accuracy basis, then calibrated per unit against a reference source before it ships. The calibration record travels with the serial number, so the ±1% claim traces back to a bench, a date and a standard — not a brochure.

Settlement data lands as 15-minute kWh freeze values — the interval utilities bill on — alongside 1-second live telemetry of V, A, kW, PF and THD(i). Per-phase balance readings let you spread single-phase loads across feeds before they become hot panels and nuisance trips.

FAQ

Metered PDU questions we actually get

Two steps. The metering front end is a billing-class chip built to the IEC 62053-21 class 1 accuracy basis, and every unit is then calibrated against a reference source before packing. The per-unit calibration record ships with the serial number — ask for it with any order and we include it.

Ordinary metered units use consumer-grade chips that drift outside invoicing tolerance — fine for capacity planning, not for money. Billing grade means ±1% on a class-1 basis plus 15-minute kWh settlement freezes, so the numbers can back a tenant invoice or an internal chargeback without an asterisk.

Yes — SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and REST out of the box, with the MIB file and OID tree available on request. Sunbird, Device42 and Nlyte integrations are the common cases; daisy-chain up to 8 units on one IP to keep cabling and IP planning simple across a row.

Match the country and the feed. IEC 60309 covers 16A / 32A / 63A single- and three-phase with mis-plug-proof 6h clock keying; NEMA L5-30P, L6-30P and L21-30P cover North American 120V, 240V and 208V three-phase feeds. Both come from the same platform, and mixed fleets are a normal order for us.
