A unit is not signed off on the strength of one reading. The list below runs in order on every build, and the metering lines are compared against a reference instrument.

Metering verification

Compared, then recorded

The unit reads current, voltage and power on each reporting line. Those readings are set against a reference instrument, and the result is written into the test record for that line.

Environmental input also checked: -30°C to 100°C at 1°C resolution

On the bench

A powered test, not a visual check

The unit is energised at the bench and each outlet is loaded. Readings appear on the OLED, in the web server and on the SNMP or Modbus registers, so the same figure can be checked in three places.

Test sequence

Six steps, in this order

Order matters: the insulation check happens before power-up, and the metering comparison happens after the unit has run long enough to settle.

Build against the drawing

Outlet type, outlet count and row order are compared with the confirmed drawing revision. A mismatch stops the unit here.

Continuity and polarity

Every line and every outlet is buzzed through, and line, neutral and earth are checked for the right order. This catches a swapped tail before power.

Coverage: every outlet

Earth bond and insulation

Chassis to earth path is measured, then insulation is tested with the unit still unpowered. Both results must pass before the breaker is closed.

Sequence: before power-up

Power-up and function

The unit runs at its rated window, 110V to 250V AC at 50Hz to 60Hz. Breakers are tripped and reset, and each outlet is loaded in turn.
