Home Industries Edge cabinet
Edge cabinet & outdoor power
Feed the cabinet nobody visits
An edge cabinet is fed from whatever the site already has, so the input is the first specification: 180V to 265V wide input with a surge and lightning path on the feed. The second is that nobody is standing next to it, so ambient at the top of the enclosure reports on the same line as current and energy.
Wide input
- 180V ~ 265V Surge and lightning path on the feed
Ambient
- -30°C ~ 100°C 1°C resolution, humidity 1% ~ 99%
Working voltage
- 110V ~ 250V AC 10A / 16A / 32A per feed

The mechanism
A feed that survives the site
The failure mode in an edge cabinet is not the load, it is the supply. A site can deliver 187V at the end of a long run and 258V when the compressor is off, and a switchover on the same feed puts a transient across the input. The unit is built for that window and puts a surge path in front of the metering, so the breaker trips before the meter sees the spike.
- Input window 180V ~ 265V
- Surge path on the feed
- Working voltage 110V ~ 250V AC
- Frequency 50Hz ~ 60Hz
- Ambient, top of enclosure -30°C ~ 100°C
- Humidity 1% ~ 99%
- Metering accuracy +/-1%

What the enclosure is signed off on
Each row is a setting on the unit, not a range quoted for a catalogue. The wide input row and the surge row are the two that decide whether the enclosure survives its site.
| Parameter | Value | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Wide input, with protection | 180V ~ 265V | Surge and lightning path in front of the meter |
| Working voltage | 110V ~ 250V AC | The range the outlets are rated at |
| Input and output current | 10A–32A / 10A–16A | Input side / outlet side |
| Working frequency | 50Hz ~ 60Hz | Both nominal supplies |
| Metering accuracy | +/-1% | Current, voltage and power, per reporting line |
| Input voltage range, meter | 90V ~ 350V | Scale 1V, +/-1% + 1 digit |
| Total current scale | 0.1A | +/-1% + 1 digit |
| Energy register | 1 grade, 0.1 kWh | Billing-grade total energy |
| Ambient sensing | -30°C ~ 100°C | 1°C resolution, humidity 1% ~ 99% |
| Communication | 10/100M + RS485 | SNMP and Modbus, embedded web server |
| Event storage | 20,000 | Entries held by the built-in RTC through power loss |
| Electrical testing | 100% | Every unit tested before packing |
- Feed entry, wide input 180V ~ 265V
- Surge and breaker before the meter
- Metering board +/-1%
- Outlet rank 10A / 16A
The enclosure holds four things in one order: entry, protection, metering, outlets. Protection sits upstream of the meter so a transient is cleared before it reaches the sampling front end, and the outlet rank sits last so the load side stays untouched by the surge path.

What a remote poll actually returns
Every cell is one register group on the reporting line, with the resolution it reports at. An unattended cabinet is judged on these five numbers and the log behind them.
-
Energy total 0.1 kWh 1 grade billing register. The smallest step the accumulated total reports.
-
Current per feed 0.1A +/-1% + 1 digit per reporting line. This is the figure a site survey is checked against.
-
Voltage 1V 90V ~ 350V meter window, so a sag on a long run stays on the register instead of dropping out.
-
Ambient, top -30°C ~ 100°C 1°C resolution, humidity 1% ~ 99%. One sensor answers both readings.
-
Event log 20,000 Entries, held by the built-in RTC through power loss, so a supply event is still readable afterwards.
-
Data path 2 ports 10/100M Ethernet plus RS485, SNMP and Modbus, with an embedded web server on the same unit.
