SNMP and Modbus integration

The monitoring board on an IDCPDU rack PDU carries 10/100M Ethernet and RS485, and answers on SNMP and Modbus from the same meter data. Remote switching is addressed per outlet or per group over the same interface.

What a poller reads

Two columns, one row per item: what the platform asks for, and what comes back from the rack. Every value sits on the published scale for the series.

From requirement to mechanism

A rack that is already polled should not need a second stack

A hall that already polls its racks should not need a gateway for one more unit. The board answers on the ports it already carries, publishes the same meter data the local display shows, and raises its own trap when a threshold is crossed, so the platform reads this rack the way it reads the rest of the row.

Meter row

One row per value a poller reads

Each row is a value on the reporting line: the item, the scale it reports at, what it means, and the surfaces that carry it.

A register read returns the meter value at the scale it was measured on. Every figure on this page is published for the series.
From poll to record

How a reading becomes a record

Three stages, in order. The platform drives the first and the third; the board acts on its own in the middle one.

Register read

The platform reads the meter values on its own cycle over SNMP or Modbus, without a write into the unit.

Output: current, voltage, power and energy per feed · buyer supplies the poll cycle

Trap on crossing

When a value crosses the threshold set for that line, the board sends the trap and writes the entry with the time from the RTC.

Output: trap and dated log entry · thresholds set per line

Log retrieved

The dated entries are read back over the same interface, up to 20,000 of them, with the clock held through a power loss.

Output: dated record for the window · buyer supplies the window
