Embedded web server and OLED

The web page and the OLED are served by the monitoring board on the unit. Nothing is installed on a host, and the display carries the address, current, voltage, power, energy and main switch state at the rack.

Reading a rack that has no platform yet

Where a hall has no polling platform, or a technician is standing at an open cabinet, a page served by the board and a display on the unit carry the reading. Both take it from the meter directly, so the figure on the OLED and the figure in the browser are one reading rather than two systems to reconcile.

The address shown on the display is the address the browser page answers on, which shortens a service visit.

Lines a technician can read at the cabinet

Each cell is a line on the local display, with the scale it reports at and what it is used for during a visit or a check.

Voltage1V Reported across a 90V to 350V window, line and phase on three-phase builds
Current0.1A Total per feed at ±1% plus one digit, shown before a load is added
Power±1% Active power per feed, at the same accuracy as the current reading
Energy0.1kWh Billing-grade total at 1 grade, the figure a billing line is written against
Main switchOn/off Read at the rack without opening a browser session
AddressIPv4 Current address on the display, so a laptop on the same network can open the page

What a service visit looks like

Three stages, in order. The first two need no platform, and the third is what makes the visit traceable afterwards.

Read the display

The address, current, voltage, power, energy and main switch state are on the OLED, so the rack can be read before anything is opened.

Output: reading at the rack · no browser needed

Open the page

A browser on the same network opens the page served by the board and shows the same values in full, without a client on the host.

Output: full readout on screen · buyer supplies a laptop on the network

Note it against the log

The value is written beside the dated entries in the event log, so a later check can be compared against the visit.

Output: readout tied to a date · up to 20,000 entries retained
